Desert Discoveries

It may rain a lot in Scotland, but some places on our planet can go for months without a drop! Find out how climate change is impacting the people that live in- and around- deserts, and learn about the projects helping bring life back to these ecosystems.

Dinky Dinos: Adventures with Dinosaurs (pre-school age)

Dinky Dinos – our early years story telling club – is back for 2022 with even more great sessions! This week join Dino and some cuddly toy friends to read a story all about Dinosaurs! Then take part in some themed activities and crafts!

Please note, children must be supervised by an adult at all times and sessions last between hour and an a half.

Every country in the world experiences different weather, but why? We’ll be looking at ways to measure the weather and how to predict weather patterns across the world. Then we’ll look at examples of how islands are affected by the weather, from Skye to Samoa!

Did you know that trees can remove Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere helping us fight climate change! Join us outdoors to uncover the hidden talents of trees and find out why they are so important to us and our planet.

digiDinos: Raspberry Pi wildlife cameras (8-14)

Learn how to code using tiny Raspberry Pi computers, build a camera trap to record images of animals in Holyrood Park and learn how scientists use technology to protect our wildlife. The session is on Friday afternoon and lasts 3.5hrs.
